‘Wolfman’ scribe for Pen GameStop Stock Pic ‘Antisocial Network’ – Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo signed on to write Ben Mezrich’s MGM adaptation The anti-social network, which tells one of the biggest stories of the year, about a motley group of amateur investors, gamers and internet trolls who brought Wall Street to its knees. MGM secured the rights to Mezrich’s book proposal in January, just a week after the true story began to take shape on Wall Street with several projects that followed, including a Netflix starring Noah Centineo.
The project brings together MGM’s Michael DeLuca with Mezrich, author of Accidental billionaires: the founding of Facebook, a story of sex, money, genius and betrayal, which was adapted into the Oscar winner Social network that DeLuca produced.

Oscar nominee Aaron Ryder of Ryder Picture Company, who recently signed a first look deal with MGM, will produce. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss will executive produce through their production banner Winklevoss Pictures.
The project is known to be a priority for DeLuca and Pamela Abdy of MGM. Johnny Pariseau will oversee the studio.
Acquisition of Grand Central Publishing The anti-social network preempted in February. The book will be published in hardcover, eBook and audio edition by Hachette Audio in the fall.
Schuker Blum and Angelo began to bite into the Orange is the new black writers room. With the show’s recent ending, the writing duo have been drawn to writing a number of photos, including Ryan Gosling. werewolf at Universal.
Mezrich has written over 20 books, with over 6 million copies sold. His books, including Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas For Millions, who spent 63 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and was adapted for screen with the film 21. Accidental billionaires spent 18 weeks on the NYT bestseller list and appeared on bestseller lists in over a dozen countries. Mezrich and Aaron Sorkin share a Scripter Award for Best Screenplay Adapted for Social network. Mezrich is the only non-fiction writer to have opened two No.1 adaptations at the box office.
His book Bitcoin billionaires was an international bestseller and is in the process of being made into a movie, as is The midnight turn, a short story originally published in serialized form by the Boston Globe and will be released by Grand Central in January 2022. Feature rights have been acquired by Amblin Partners.
