Willard Library hosts free outdoor movie night
The Willard Library is hosting a fun outdoor movie night, and it’s free! They just ask you to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy the show. Tonight will be rightly dinosaur-themed, as the movie they are screening is The Land Before Time.
The fun takes place on September 11 on the lawn of the Willard Library. They will start the fun at 5pm with food trucks, Fuego’s Taqueria and Sweet Dreams a la Mode will be there serving food (so bring money for the food trucks), and Willard Library will kick off the night with a free child craft , where kids can make their own dinosaur mask. Then at 6:15 p.m., Evansville’s favorite dinosaur friend Beaux the T-Rex will appear. Children can enjoy photos with Beaux for free. Then, at 7:30 am, The Land Before Time will begin on a giant 50 ‘X 30′ cinema screen outdoors. Kids’ crafts, Beaux the T-rex, and the movie are all free, and you don’t need a Willard Library card to attend. For a full rundown of the events and to see the dinosaur mask the kids will be making, you can check out the Willard Library website, here.
There comes a time in the life of every child (well every child since 1988) when it’s a right of passage to learn more about the incredible and heartbreaking film that is The Land Before Time. It’s a movie that I loved as a kid, so I’m excited to see it being shown to the younger generation as well now!
