Timothee Chalamet will play young Willy Wonka in the Warner Bros. movie.

Timothée Chalamet will play the world’s most famous chocolatier in âWonkaâ, a musical based on Willy Wonka’s debut.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, the previous Warner Bros. serves as the origin story of the man who then opened an elaborate candy house. Chalamet’s representatives confirm that he will sing and dance in the film.
Roald Dahl’s popular children’s book, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” follows a poor boy named Charlie Bucket, who wins a golden ticket to visit the world-famous and very well-kept chocolate factory run by a Willy Wonka. Since the next movie takes place before the chocolate factory opens, Charlie and his company will not be appearing in “Wonka”.
Gene Wilder memorably portrayed the Candy Man in the 1971 film adaptation, and Johnny Depp later played the role in the 2005 reboot directed by Tim Burton.
Paul King, known for “Paddington” and its sequel, directs the movie Warner Bros. David Heyman, a driving force behind “Harry Potter” and “Paddington” will produce “Wonka”, based on a script by Simon Rich.
The film is set to debut in theaters on March 17, 2023.
