TikTok viral video alleges movie theater is playing movie from Amazon Prime app

A viral TikTok video has circulated claiming that a movie theater is using an Amazon Prime video to preview its movies on its big screen.

The clip, which featured a local movie channel, showed how Black Theater was apparently caught navigating the user interface of tech giant Amazon’s streaming service.
Viral TikTok Video Claims Cinema Uses Amazon Prime
According to the report of DailyDot, the original TikTok video was posted by a user named @ rachel.m00re.
The caption for the viral clip says that the theater at their location appears to be using Fire TV, which is Amazon’s video streaming device.
In addition to this, the user further claimed in the caption of the viral video that the movie channel is praising Amazon Prime Video.
The video began by showing a dark movie theater with only a massive bright screen clearly visible in TikTok’s shaking clip.
The viral content also took a video of the screen showing the search interface of the Amazon Prime Video app, in which someone searches for the movie “Dr. Seuss”.
Subsequently, when the movie “The Grinch” was about to play, a prompt from the Amazon app suddenly prevented the movie from starting.

The app’s pop-up is titled: “Maximum video playback”, noting that “the maximum number of videos is playing on your account.”
The Amazon Prime Video error message further suggested that the app user “stop watching any of the videos in your account”. It is to broadcast the title of the current film that the cinema chain would try to show its moviegoers.

At the time of writing, the TikTok video that featured an unnamed local cinema has already garnered 2.1 million views.

On top of that, the number of likes in the viral clip has managed to amass nearly 400,000 likes since it was first uploaded on December 24.

Amazon Prime Video
Meanwhile, according to the press article by Hiking film, Amazon Prime Video in the US is dropping the entire library of classic and iconic TV shows from the “Star Trek” franchise.
The live action series, namely “Star Trek: The Original Series”, “Star Trek: Enterprise”, “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Star Trek: Voyager” is leaving Amazon’s streaming service by early 2022.
Trek Movie further noted in the same report that these “Star Trek” titles are moving to another rival streaming app, Paramount +.
