That there is carnage? Rumors about the end credits
Thinking about how much superhero cinema has dominated mainstream audiences throughout the 2010s, it would be wise to quote 2018.
The biggest film event of the year was definitely Avengers: Infinity War, but we also immersed ourselves in epics such as Aquaman and Black Panther, while enjoying comic book inspired show of Deadpool 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
These have all been championed by the public for different reasons, as has the long-awaited vehicle for Venom.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, many fans found it to be a refreshing slice of superhero action, as it arguably reminded of the movies we would have had during the comic book movie boom of the early 2000s.
He didn’t take himself too seriously and instead chose to offer the audience an explosion of fun.
With the sequel making its way to theaters in October and the hype for Spider-Man: No Path Home building, viewers found themselves contemplating potential surprises. Is Tom Holland in Venom: Let There Be Carnage?
Is Tom Holland in Venom: Let There Be Carnage?
No, the 25-year-old Spider-Man actor is not reprising his MCU role in the 2021 Venom sequel.
In a conversation with Variety, Sandford Panitch – chairman of Sony Picture Motion Pictures – said of Spider-Man’s absence from the upcoming movie: âWe don’t really think of our 900 characters as the verse of Spidey. . We have a Marvel universe. The sheer volume of characters that we have – you know, wait until you see that next Venom. Don’t you miss Spider-Man⦠“
However, he also teased, “It’ll be exciting if they meet, right?”
Looking ahead, the film’s director – Andy Serkis – also told IGN:
âThey ignore, at this point, other characters like Spider-Man. So that’s how we chose to play this particular episode of the movie, but we’ll just wait and see what little things you can get out of it.
The âwe’ll wait and seeâ certainly sounds optimistic, and for good reason.
In a more recent interview with IGN, Andy responded to fans’ hopes, âThey want to know if Venom is going to meet Spider-Man, but personally that will never happen. Just kidding, of course it will happen⦠â
The confirmation will certainly be heavenly music to the ears of Spidey fans, but there is more …
Venom 2 rumors on the end credits scene
WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS TO LET YOURSELF CARNAGE
Audiences have reacted on Twitter to a first screening of the film and some are praising the post-credits carnage.
While details of the scene have not been officially confirmed, Gizmodo is responding to rumors he’s showing Eddie Brock and Venom watching TV. On screen, we are witnessing images that confirm that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man exists in the Venom universe.
Others suggested that Eddie witnessed footage of Mysterio revealing Spidey’s identity since the end of Far from home.
You can check out some reactions on Twitter below:
“You could miss it”
In the aforementioned September interview with IGN, Andy was sure to stress the importance of not rushing into the colossal crossover:
âLook, it depends on when you want to get there, and also your appetite. If people want more Venom stories, then to jump right into Spider-Man, you might be missing out on so many great villain characters by then. So in a way, if you rushed into it, you might close the door.
So while we might not see Tom taking over the web-slinger in a third installment, it still seems pretty inevitable down the line.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits theaters Friday, October 1, 2021.
