Suraj Gowda – The New Indian Express

Three-film actor Suraj Gowda is set to make a foray into directing with his fourth film, Ninna Sanihake. The model-turned-hero, who made his debut with Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole, will begin his directorial career with this romantic drama. “I want to ask ‘why not? Whenever I am given challenges, and I want to do it. So when the producers made that offer, I thought it was fair and grabbed the opportunity, ”said Suraj, whose directorial debut will be released on October 8.
Ask him what he brings to the table as a director, Suraj says: “I am someone who has always shown interest in different aspects of cinema, which include editing, cinematography etc. Understand cinema is a director’s medium, I had this quest for knowledge and I tried to become a better actor by learning the trade. That’s how it started, and it paid off. He adds ,
“In addition, I have had the privilege of learning from directors with whom I have already worked. They gave in to my interests in all film departments and allowed me to train in all aspects of filmmaking. I believe cinema is a complicated art, and it’s hard to just watch movies and direct. We have to be technically aware of how we should go about it. Although the opportunity to direct came as a surprise, I didn’t consider it “experimental”. I was prepared.
Suraj also writes the story and screenplay for Ninna Sanihake and says that writing the film was one of the main reasons he decided to direct the film. “I prioritize the writer and director over an actor,” Suraj says, adding:
“I have been a storyteller since my childhood and I like to develop everything that is happening around me. This is again something that was not planned. But then I didn’t get the movies I wanted to be a part of. It was then that I thought I should write my own. I started with Ninna Sanihake and wrote two more scripts.
Bringing up a topic about home relationships for Ninna Sanihake, Suraj says, “Although romantic comedy is a very common genre, I wanted to give audiences something new. Although life relationships are legal. it is still taboo.
I wanted to have a comic take on this subject and show how love is perceived at that time, ”explains Suraj, who told us that he appreciated the film’s post-production process. Ninna Sanihake marks Dhanya Ramkumar’s acting debut, and according to Suraj, the team needed a new face, and it did the trick. “Ninna Sanihake has music by Raghu Dixit, which is also one of the highlights,” says the beginning director.
