Steven Spielberg’s Jaws hits theaters in 3D in September in the US
This stereoscopic film debut for Bruce the Shark is part of a celebration of the director’s work with Universal Pictures, which will also see his 1982 sci-fi film HEY released in IMAX, from August 12, to mark its 40th anniversary.
According to the report by industry news platform Deadline, Jaws will be screened in IMAX and RealD 3D.

Meanwhile, Megan Colligan, president of IMAX Entertainment, said the company was “delighted” to partner with Universal on the big-format releases of two of Spielberg’s best-known films. “Steven Spielberg redefined modern cinema and ushered in a new era of bold cinematic achievement, and the IMAX experience has spread across the world through the path blazed by films like HEY and Jaws.’
It is not yet known if the two films will also receive cinema releases in the UK – or if a possible 3D Blu-ray release for the new Jaws the remaster could one day arrive…
