Showcase cinema in Peterborough to broadcast England’s Euro 2020 matches – and tickets are free

Football fans will be able to watch England matches at the upcoming European Championships on the big screen at the Showcase Cinema in Peterborough.
Screenings will be free, but customers will need to book in advance to reserve their seats for the games.
Showcase says the ruling, which will see matches involving the three local nations qualifying in this summer’s tournament aired in theaters across the country, is a reward to fans for their patience after the Euro delay.
England matches will be shown in cinemas in England, Wales matches in Wales and Scotland matches in Scotland.
The tournament was supposed to be played in the summer of 2020, but it has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mark Barlow, UK Managing Director of Showcase, said: âWe have certainly had to wait for this tournament, so we are delighted to finally be able to make the most of it!
“We are proud to be able to offer fans the opportunity to come and watch the games in our theaters and support their home country.”
To celebrate the tournament’s late arrival, Showcase also partnered with culinary artist Nathan Wyburn to create artwork of a player from each of the original three nations to qualify.

The renowned artist has collected portraits of English captain Harry Kane, Welsh star Gareth Bale and Scottish skipper Andrew Robertson, created using only classic movie popcorn.
Nathan, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011, said: “Showcase Cinemas asked me to create a series of portraits to celebrate the next few euros – and the country’s favorite cinema snack – popcorn – did the perfect material to create these portraits.
âWe all love popcorn, and I’m sure these players are no different. Hopefully these works of art will show that we are all behind them, and we wish them good luck.
