Rahman in a recent interview with
Muzik247, a Youtube channel, said that even though he was running out of time, the film’s unique premise piqued his interest and he got on board with it. The composer said he was in Dubai when Fahadh called him and said he wanted to show him a movie. Due to lack of time, the musician invited the actor to Dubai where he watched the film.
As Rahman was impressed with the theme, he asked the actor to collaborate on another project. However, Fahadh convinced the musician to compose for his next film. Rahman said he’s never seen a character like ‘Malayankunju’ and he’s never worked for a character who is a radio mechanic, something he could have become if he didn’t. was not a composer.
The composer said he attempted to follow the character’s thought process and brought out a diverse range of sounds suited to his surroundings.
“I am coming to Malayalam film industry after 28 years. I am also doing ‘Aadujeevitham’ by Blessy and I hope you like the music and I hope to do more music in Malayalam,” Rahman said as he ended the interview. .

Rahman first composed in Malayalam for the 1992 epic action comedy “Yodha” directed by Sangeeth Sivan. He composed four songs for the film which were all chartbusters of the era. The 55-year-old composer also made an appearance in Mohanlal’s 2022 action film “Aaraattu”.
Fahadh returns to theaters for Malayali audiences after two years. His last theatrical release in Malayalam was the acclaimed 2020 drama “Trance”. ”Malayankunju” is directed by Sajimon Prabhakar and produced by Fahadh Faasil & Friends. The film also stars Rajisha Vijayan, Indrans, Jaffar Idukki and Shyamaprasad.
The film encountered several obstacles given the pandemic and strict Covid-19 protocols. It was reported that during filming, Fahadh fell and suffered a nose injury for which he had to undergo surgery.
