New “4DFX Hawaii” Cinema Offers Unique Cinematic Experience

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Over the past year, most people have stayed at home to watch movies on the computer. Is it boring compared to a movie theater?
As the condition returns to normal, moviegoers are returning to theaters.
However, there is no traditional cinema at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
They have what is called “4DFX Hawaii”.
It’s a cinema that gives such a different experience.
KHON2 met with Managing Director Adrienne Ishizu to find out more
What is 4DFX and what can people expect when coming here?
âWell, everyone’s very comfortable and familiar with 3D, but we’re actually 4D,â Ishizu says. âSo 4D is more of a sitting experience in the chair, you move around, so the chairs actually move with the movies. You have an effects bar in front of you. A scent escapes and fogs up as you ride through a wave in one of our movies. We also have ceiling fans to create wind effects, so it really is an overall and truly unique experience.
Guests should choose wisely, with any additional items that come their way
What films are shown?
âWe don’t play mainstream movies here,â Ishizu explains. âWe’re playing, we’ve got five different movies right now. Two of these have a strong Hawaiian focus, so they’re a taste of what you can see on the islands. It’s a very good adventure. It’s “Soaring Over Hawaii”, it’s a POV hovering over the islands. We’re going to Maui, we’re going to Kauai. And we also have âAdventure Quest Hawaiiâ which is more of an adventure sport. We have three other films: we have âOne Planet, One Peopleâ. That you can see all over the world and we also have “Mother Earth” which is a meditative journey. We have a live show to go with it with Lucy Linch and we also have a thrill ride. “
Are there any special offers or promotions on ticket sales?
âYes,â Ishizu said. âWe are offering kama’aina discounts. We also have a buy two, get one special. You can buy two movies and you can buy one for free. So you can watch three in one day if you want. Plus, with every ticket purchased, you get a free bottle of our Jason Mamoa “Mananalu” water.
It’s really cool, and who would have known that Aquaman himself had his own aquatic can.
The theater is open everyday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
