Movie theaters require patience as crowds flock to the movies
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – If you’ve been to a movie while on vacation, or still planning to do so, you’re not alone.
Thanks to films like Spider Man, Sing 2 and American Underdog, crowds in local cinemas are starting to look like those before the pandemic.
“You know I think we’re getting closer, I would tell you we’re very, very happy as an industry, I’m the president of the National Association of Theater Owners, besides being the president, chairman and CEO of Marcus Theaters, sure, but I would tell you that we are seeing an incredible resurgence of our business and in particular, driven by a lot of good films, which for a holiday tradition, could not be at a better time â, says Rolando Rodriguez, President, President and CEO of Marcus Theaters.
The influx of moviegoers created some challenges.
Due to staff shortages and supply chain issues, Marcus Theaters are limiting concessions to popcorn, soda, candy and bottled water – to keep the lines running efficiently.
âWe definitely ask our clients to be a little patient with us, our teams work very hard to make sure that we exceed their expectations and we are happy to see them again in the theaters,â says Rodriguez.
Due to the rush to see blockbusters, Rodriguez advises purchasing tickets in advance to ensure that the movie of your choice doesn’t sell out.
He also hopes that this trend for cinemas to become a destination again will continue in 2022.
âI think it’s a journey that our whole country and every industry is starting to take again where customers are now coming back to socializing, safe socializing, by the way we encourage all of our customers, all of our associates to s ‘ensure they get their immunizations and especially if you can receive the booster, please do so, âsays Rodriguez.
