Movie theaters back to 100% capacity

Pennsylvania lifted capacity limits at restaurants, bars and other venues on Monday, allowing those establishments to once again be at 100% capacity. âIt’s kind of like a big release,â said Anthony Cammarata, general manager of the Manor Theater in Squirrel Hill. âWhen the restrictions took effect, we installed seating charts on our ticketing system so we could keep everyone spaced out,â he said. “The only thing we really had to do is make sure the seats were available now.” Since the state lifted mitigation efforts, the theatre’s smallest hall can seat 93 and its largest 189. The theater closed in March 2020 and reopened in August, but when Governor Tom Wolf shut down. reinstated COVID-19 restrictions in December, the theater was forced to close again. It reopened in April. Cammarata said Memorial Day weekend was their best sales weekend since last August. âWe saw a slight increase in business this weekend,â he said. “We have some good films and I hope as long as those are good films that come out the rest of the summer that will help boost business.”
