Kalamazoo Open House to Feature Film and Fire Truck Demonstration
KALAMAZOO, MI – A free open house at Kalamazoo will take place on Friday.
The event will feature a fire engine, a children’s movie and gifts, according to a press release from the town of Kalamazoo. The city and its parks department are organizing the open house for all members of the community.
It begins at 5 p.m. on July 9 in the parking lot of the Kalamazoo Public Safety Department Headquarters, 150 E. Crosstown Parkway. The event was originally scheduled for May 21 but has been postponed.

At 7 pm, “Zootopia” will be shown on a screen in the parking lot. People can bring blankets and chairs to watch the film, the statement said. There will also be a few places for cars for a drive-in.
There will be gifts that match the theme of “Zootopia,” the statement said.
Children who bring their bikes and helmets can have them installed by KDPS agents. Officers will use a fire engine for the demonstrations, the statement said.
The Curry in a Hurry food truck will have food to buy.
