Is the movie A24 streaming?

It’s been six years since Ti Westthe last movie, In a valley of violence, and nine years since he released a horror movie. But now the writer/director is back with a new A24 slasher that will delight horror fans and moviegoers alike. X is a horror story set in 1970s Texas and follows a group of young Hollywood hopefuls in search of their big break. Unfortunately for them, their ticket to fame will land them in the clutches of a killer couple whose interest in filmmakers has deadly consequences.

Not much is known about the film other than the initial plot summary and what is revealed in the trailer. Jenna Ortegaone of the stars of the film, told Weekly entertainment that the scenario of X was “the most outrageous thing [she has] never read.” One thing is certain, this film will be full of terrifying moments that will have you jumping out of your seat in fear.

When will X be released?

The world premiere of X took place on March 13, 2022, at the South by Southwest Film Festival. The festival takes place in Austin, Texas, the same state where the film is set.

After this first premiere, X is set to hit theaters on March 18. Select theaters also had first screenings on Thursday, March 17.

Is X available for online streaming?

Currently, X should only have a theatrical release. That means for now, you’ll have to head to your local theater to watch it. However, that does not mean X will never be available for streaming. Any news regarding a digital release will likely come at a later date after the film has played in theaters for a while.

What is X talking about?

The film’s plot revolves around a group of filmmakers who arrive in Texas to film their latest project. They settled on a farm owned by an elderly couple who live next door. However, this group is not here to make your traditional film. They’re working on an adult movie, and things get deadly when their hosts find out what’s really going on on their property.

The trailer for the film also reveals that the old woman who lives on the farm suffers from a mysterious illness that causes her to behave in strange and violent ways after dark. While we don’t quite know the extent of what these young filmmakers have to deal with, it’s clear that nothing good happens once the sun goes down on this Texas property.

Who are the cast and crew of X?

The film’s writer and director, Ti West, is no stranger to the horror genre. West’s feature film debut was a 2005 horror film titled the perchwhich he wrote, directed and performed. Since then, he has written and directed several horror films, including Innkeepers and The sacrament. West has also served as a director on various horror television series, such as MTV’s Yell and Their on Amazon Prime.

The cast of X understand mia goth like Maxine, Brittany snow like Bobby-Lynne, and Martin Henderson like Wayne. Jenna Ortega is also featured in the film as Lorraine. Ortega recently starred in Yell (2022), and she will play Wednesday Addams in Tim Burton’s Wednesday series for Netflix. Another main cast member is the rapper Scott Mescudi a.k.a Kid Cudiincluding the mixtape A child named Cudi is expected to hit streaming services soon.

A group of friends traveling through Texas are captured and tormented by a family of killers, including the villainous Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen). This film is credited with establishing several defining elements of the slasher genre, and it was even banned in some countries due to its immense violence. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is available to watch for free on Amazon via IMDb TV, and its recently released sequel, Chainsaw Massacre, is streaming now on Netflix. As X, the Chainsaw Massacre and subsequent films in his franchise are slasher films set in rural Texas. This staple of the horror genre is a perfect watch to get you in the mood for X.


Midsommar: If you are looking for another A24 horror feature, Midsommar is a perfect choice. Florence Poug stars as Dani, a student traumatized after the death of her family. In an effort to get away, Dani joins her boyfriend, Christian (Jack Reynor), on a trip to Sweden to visit a township called Hårga and attend their Midsummer celebration. However, the festivities quickly take a dark turn and Dani finds herself in the middle of a deadly cult ritual. This movie is definitely not for the faint of heart, but it’s a must-watch for any horror fan.

Visit: M.Night Shyamalanit’s Visit is a found footage film that mixes horror and comedy. The film follows two siblings, Becca (Olivia De Jonge) and Tyler (Ed Oxenbould), who stay with their grandparents while their mother goes on a cruise. This will be the first time they meet their grandparents as their mother, Loretta (Catherine Hahn), separated from her parents 15 years ago. Becca and Tyler decide to make a documentary about the experience, but their film quickly turns into a way to gather evidence as their grandparents’ behavior grows increasingly bizarre and violent. This movie, like X, features protagonists stuck in a rural house with sinister hosts. Corn Visit has lots of thrilling moments and suspense, it also uses comedic elements for a watch that’s a little lighter than a traditional horror movie.
