Eternals star Angelina Jolie explains why she joined the MCU movie

Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings finally hitting theaters this weekend and it’s not the last Marvel movie of the year that fans should look forward to. It has been reported that as long as Shang-Chi does well at the box office, Eternals will be released again in November. The film was directed by recent Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao and is expected to feature a stacked cast. One of the lineup’s many stars is Angelina Jolie, who will make her MCU debut as Thena. Recently, Jolie spoke to Disney’s Charger D23 (Going through The Direct) and revealed why she wanted to join the movie.
“That was the real reason I wanted to make the movie. It was to be part of such a diverse family, and I didn’t care how big the role would be,” Jolie explained. âWhat surprised me the most about joining the MCU and working with Chloe was how grounded she was. The first time the actors met, she was barefoot and sitting on the floor. C It was through this first encounter that we discovered that we saw ourselves as geeks and misfits, which connected us all and added another layer to the story of Eternals. It is our quirks and our differences that have become our superpowers. Chloe is the great equalizer – even though this was a massive, star-studded cast that she worked with, she treated us with the same attention and care. “
In addition to Jolie, Eternals is about to play Gemma Chan in Sersi, Richard Madden in Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani in Kingo, Lia McHugh in Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry in Phastos, Lauren Ridloff in Makkari, Barry Keoghan in Druig, Don Lee in Gilgamesh, Kit Harington in Dane Whitman, and Salma Hayek as Ajak. In the film, a race of immortal beings with superhuman powers who have lived secretly on Earth for thousands of years come together to fight the evil Deviants. Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Eternals last month. The trailer shed new light on the plot of the film, the evil Deviants, and why the Eternals didn’t help the Avengers in their fight against Thanos.
Eternals is currently set to hit theaters on November 5th.. The rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, now playing in theaters, Marvel’s What if…?, which airs new episodes on Disney + on Wednesdays, Hawk Eye on Disney + on November 24, and Spider-Man: No Path Home in theaters December 17th.
