Cinemark cinemas wrap up first-ever cinema week
ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – Movie Week ends Sunday.
It was a week-long nationwide promotional campaign to encourage moviegoers to return to the movies.
After the movie industry was hit hard during the pandemic, Cinemark Cinemas launched their first ever Movie Week campaign in an effort to bring moviegoers back to their place.
“It’s been over a year,” said movie buff Pablo Avila. âThis is our first time since the pandemic, and it’s great to be back. “
âIt’s a better experience, rather than being at home. It’s a bigger screen, it sounds better, and it’s just in a better environment, âsaid film buff Klarissa Slagado.
âActually, I’m leaving the house. Because at home, you feel stressed, so it is better to go out, âsaid film enthusiast Karissa Duran.
But it wasn’t just the special promotions, giveaways, and theater upgrades.
Some moviegoers have said it was the premiere of one of this year’s most anticipated blockbusters that brought them back⦠a quarter mile at a time.
âWe were waiting to see the Fast and Furious 9 movie, we waited for it and we still do it every Sunday,â Salgado said.
âWe’ve been fans of Fast and Furious forever, and it’s just a good action movie. A little cheesy, but that’s what we’re coming for, âAvila said.
âI saw the previews, and it looks like a pretty cool movie, so I just came with my family to watch it,â Duran said.
Theaters may end Movie Week on Sunday, but Century 12 Odessa will still be showing this summer’s biggest releases, such as July’s Black Widow and Snake Eyes.
