In November 2020, CinemaCon confirmed that the 2021 event was postponed from spring to summer, taking place August 23-26 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. In an announcement made today, the convention confirmed that this year’s event is still relevant on those dates while also announcing which studios will be in attendance. According to Hollywood journalist Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony and Universal will all be in attendance with MGM / United Artists Releasing and Lionsgate. The 2020 CinemaCon has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Sony having ignored it in 2019, this will mark their first appearance in three years.

“Having been sidelined by the pandemic in 2020, CinemaCon is gearing up for its biggest release yet,” read a statement from the National Association of Theater Owners. “The plans to celebrate our 10th edition last year may have been scuttled, but now it’s time to get back to business. We’re excited to step up our efforts so the industry can come together, allowing us to do what we do best to celebrate the cinematic experience. We continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation from a global perspective, ”the note continued. “Our priority is to create a safe environment for all participants, following the health and safety protocols defined by the State of Nevada and the City of Las Vegas.”

CinemaCon’s official website touts the event including ‘exclusive showcases of Hollywood products debuting with a roster of upcoming films, screenings of must-see feature films, to top stars, producers and directors, CinemaCon will be relaunching the excitement and buzz that surrounds the summer season and beyond) at the box office. “

He continues, “The CinemaCon program will be broad, diverse, educational and fun, and will feature the world’s largest cinema trade show. It will attract and attract all facets of the international motion picture industry – exhibition, distribution, marketing, publicity and advertising, internet and social media and of course, manufacturers and dealers of theater equipment and dealerships that will present the latest technological advances and innovative concession offers at the show. “

With this year’s event not taking place until the end of August, studios will not have the opportunity to show off their summer blockbuster roster. Movies that could be highlighted at the event could include Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Dune, Halloween Kills, and Top Gun: Maverick.
