Cinema celebrates ‘Doctor Strange 2’ by paying homage to the comics
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released around the world, but few places celebrated the latest MCU release like this theater.
In a post Over at Marvel Studios Reddit, a theatergoer shared his local venue’s promotional exhibit, highlighting Scarlet Witch’s comic book origins.
The creation appears to have featured the interior of Wanda’s Westview home with House of M painted on its walls. This pays homage to the 2005 comic of the same name from which Doctor Strange 2 adapted part of its plot.
In House of M, Scarlet Witch attempts to alter reality so she can bring back her lost children, similar to the character’s plot in the recently released film. This race is the origin of the popular “no more mutants” sign, as Wanda attempted to erase future mutants from the Marvel Comics Universe.
The display includes a life-size Scarlet Witch model outfitted in true-to-movie attire. The creation is completed with lighting and additions to provide the involvement of Wanda using her powers.
Fans who have seen the film will understand the similarities between Doctor Strange 2 and the House of M comic book limited series. However, all 8 issues are available physically or digitally for those who have not read the series.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released in theaters around the world.
