film profile], directed by Ferit Karahan, won the Moon of Valencia Award for Best Feature Film at 36e edition of the Cinema Jove festival, a proudly and fiercely young gathering that took place in Valencia from June 18 to 26. This drama set in a boarding school in Anatolia also won the Audience Award at the International Film Festival organized by the Cultural Institute of Valencia. The jury – composed of Rosanne Pel, Santiago Alverú, Alanté Kavaité, Iulia Rugina and Nacho Ruipérez – particularly appreciated “his ability to cross borders thanks to his emotional journey bristling with criticism and humor”.

Meanwhile, the Youth Jury Prize for Best Feature Film was awarded to Ecstasy, portrait of the experience of a young woman suffering from anorexia, by Brazil Moara Passoni, which also won the CIMA Prize, awarded by the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media.
In the Official Short Films Section, the Valence Moon was awarded to Repetition by Nigeria Michel Omonua. The jury, composed Ãrika Sánchez, Carlo Sironi and Diane Malherbe, declared that this comedy “undertakes an intelligent critique of societies in which religion exercises great power, which gives it a universal character”. They also distinguished Sestre, directed by Katarina ReÅ¡ek, with a special mention.
On the other hand, the 15 members of the youth jury for short films chose to award the Prize for the best short film to Oh black hole through Renee Zhan. The Audience Award for Best Short Film was awarded to Antonia through Alba fair.
In the Official Webseries section, the prizes were distributed fairly evenly: the Valencia Moon for Best Web Series went to the Argentinian 1 of these days through Andy Gorostiaga, visible on Instagram. Another Argentinian effort, To cross through Martin vatenberg, won the Audience Award for Best Web Series and also received a Special Mention for Best Distribution, while The Communist’s Daughter through Lea Cameron won the Youth Jury Award for Best Web Series, with additional special mentions for Best Photography and Best Music. Special mentions for Best Director and Best Editing went to the Australian Love, weapons and leveling up, while the Special Mention for Best Production Design went to the team behind Dounia. Hitté through Martijn winkler was deemed worthy of the Special Mention for Best Screenplay.
The Movistar + / Pecera Estudio / Free Your Mind Short Film Project Award went to the screenplay by Se our hizo de noche through Jorge Cantos: this title will open the next edition of Cinema Jove, in 2022. Finally, the Feroz Prize of the Association of Spanish Cinema Journalists was won by the Spanish short film Dana through Lucia Forner.
