Andrew Lloyd Webber hated the movie “Cats” so much that he got his first dog

Andrew Lloyd Webber admits he had an extreme reaction to the 2019 film version of his musical “Cats”: he went out and bought a dog.
The composer told Variety that the film “was off the scale all wrong.
âThere wasn’t really an understanding of why the music worked,â he said. “I saw it and I just thought, ‘Oh, my God, no. “”
In fact, Webber thought the movie was so horrible that for the first time in his “70 odd years on this planet, âhe wanted the company of a dog.
âSo the only good thing to come out of this is my little Havanese puppy,â said Webber.
Webber really loved his dog so much that he found a way to get him on planes.
âI wrote off and said I needed him with me at all times because I’m emotionally damaged and need to have this therapy dog,â Webber said. âThe airline responded and said, ‘Can you prove you really need him?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, just see what Hollywood did to my musical’ Cats’.
It must have worked. He said the approval came back with a note saying “No doctor’s report required.”
Webber isn’t the only one who yelled at the movie “Cats”. The film won six Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director for Hooper, and Worst Supporting Actor and Actress for stars James Corden and Rebel Wilson.
However, not everyone feels the same.
Jennifer Hudson, who sang “Memory” in the movie, loved the movie so much that she had two cats, naming one after her character, Grizabella the Glamor Cat, and the other after Macavity, the feline played by Idris Elba.
