Do you like movies? Bring a blanket.

Akron sponsors a free summer movie series with over 20 movies to watch under the stars.

It’s actually four series in one: Sunday Cinema at Lock 3, Movies on the Great Streets, North Hill Movie Series, and Community Partner Series.

The tracks go from “Black Panther” to “The Lion King” through “The Karate Kid” and “Soul”.

Starting in June, films will be shown at 8:00 pm every Sunday at Lock 3 at 200 S. Main St. Each screening will also feature a “learning element” based on the theme of the film.

The Great Streets series begins at 8 p.m. at various locations while the North Hill and Community Partner films begin at dusk. People’s Park at 760 Elma Street is home to the North Hill Movies.

Organizers suggest that moviegoers check for updates, specific times or weather cancellations on Lock3Live.com or through the park’s social media pages.
